Day 1: - Arrival in Luxor & East Bank Exploration

Morning/Afternoon: Arrive at Luxor International Airport (LXR) or Luxor train station. Our representative will meet you and assist with your transfer to your 5-star Nile cruise ship, Check-in: Settle into your cabin and enjoy a leisurely lunch on board as the ship prepares for its journey.

  • Afternoon: Begin your exploration of Luxor's East Bank, a vibrant open-air museum.

Karnak Temple Complex: The largest ancient religious site in the world, built over centuries by numerous pharaohs. It's a sprawling complex of temples, chapels, pylons, and obelisks, primarily dedicated to the Theban Triad of Amun, Mut, and Khonsu. Its sheer scale and intricate carvings are awe-inspiring.

      • Highlights: The Great Hypostyle Hall with its 134 massive columns, the Sacred Lake, the Avenue of Sphinxes (connecting to Luxor Temple), and various sanctuaries and courts.

Luxor Temple: Dedicated to the rejuvenation of kingship, Luxor Temple was a place of worship for pharaohs and often served as a focal point for the Opet Festival, an annual celebration where the cult statues of Amun, Mut, and Khonsu were paraded from Karnak to Luxor Temple.

      • Highlights: The grand entrance with the remaining obelisk (its twin is in Paris), the colossal statues of Ramesses II, and the beautiful colonnades and courtyards, especially stunning when illuminated at night.

Day 2: - West-Bank of luxor Wonders & Sailing to Edfu

After breakfast, embark on an excursion to Luxor's West Bank, the ancient "City of the Dead."

Valley of the Kings: valley on the west bank of the Nile, serving as the burial site for pharaohs and powerful nobles of the New Kingdom (18th to 20th Dynasties). Hidden beneath the desert cliffs, these rock-cut tombs were designed to protect the mummies and treasures of the afterlife, Explore three to four royal tombs (the specific tombs open to visitors can vary, but may include those of Ramesses III, Ramesses IV, Thutmose III, or others, excluding Tutankhamun's tomb which requires an extra ticket). Admire the vibrant hieroglyphs and colorful wall paintings depicting scenes from the Book of the Dead and the pharaohs' journey to the afterlife.

Temple of Hatshepsut (Deir el-Bahari): A stunning mortuary temple dedicated to Queen Hatshepsut, one of Egypt's most successful female pharaohs. Carved into the towering cliffs, its distinctive multi-terraced design is a masterpiece of ancient architecture, The impressive ramps and colonnades, beautifully preserved reliefs depicting Hatshepsut's divine birth, her expedition to Punt, and her relationship with the gods.

Colossi of Memnon: Two massive stone statues of Pharaoh Amenhotep III, standing silently on the Theban plain. These 18-meter-tall colossal figures were once part of Amenhotep III's mortuary temple, which has largely vanished, Marvel at the sheer size of these ancient guardians and learn about their fascinating history and the "singing" phenomenon that gave them their Greek name.

  • Afternoon: Return to the cruise ship. Lunch on board as the ship begins its sail towards Edfu, passing through the Esna Lock (often an interesting experience to watch the ship navigate the lock system).
  • Evening: Dinner on board and overnight in Edfu.

Day 3: - Edfu Temple & Kom Ombo Temple

After breakfast, take a horse-drawn carriage ride to the magnificent Edfu Temple.

  • Temple of Horus at Edfu: One of the best-preserved ancient temples in Egypt, dedicated to the falcon god Horus. Built during the Ptolemaic period, its detailed carvings and grand scale offer an incredible insight into ancient Egyptian religious practices. The towering entrance pylons adorned with colossal reliefs, the vast courtyard, and the atmospheric inner sanctuaries, including the shrine of Horus and the Nilometer.

Return to the ship and continue sailing to Kom Ombo. Enjoy lunch on board.

After your visit to Edfu Temple, you'll return to the Cruise, which will continue its sail south towards Kom Ombo. Enjoy lunch onboard and the leisurely pace of the cruise. In the afternoon, you'll arrive at Kom-Ombo, you will Skip the visit of this temple  because we will visit this temple in our way back with the cruise from Aswan. In the evening, the Cruise,  will set sail towards Aswan. Dinner will be served onboard, and you might have the opportunity to enjoy more evening entertainment.

Day 4: - Aswan Highlights & Felucca Ride

  • Aswan High Dam: An engineering marvel built across the Nile River, completed in 1970. It was designed to control the annual flooding of the Nile, provide irrigation for agriculture, and generate hydroelectric power. Learn about its impact on Egypt's economy and landscape, and enjoy panoramic views of Lake Nasser, one of the world's largest artificial lakes.
  • Unfinished Obelisk: Located in the ancient granite quarry, this massive obelisk remains unfinished, still attached to the bedrock. It offers a unique glimpse into the ancient Egyptians' stoneworking techniques. Observe the impressive scale of the obelisk (intended to be the largest ever carved) and the tool marks left by ancient artisans, providing insight into their immense skill.
  • Philae Templ: A stunning temple complex dedicated to the goddess Isis, originally located on Philae Island. It was meticulously relocated to Agilkia Island during the UNESCO campaign to save monuments from the rising waters of the High Dam. Take a short motorboat ride to reach the island temple. Admire the beautiful setting, the intricate reliefs depicting Isis and her myths, and the well-preserved kiosks and courtyards.
  • Afternoon: Return to the cruise ship for lunch.
  • Late Afternoon: Enjoy a relaxing felucca ride or Nubian Village  on the Nile around Elephantine Island.

    A traditional Egyptian wooden sailboat, a felucca offers a serene and authentic way to experience the beauty of the Nile, propelled by the wind. Glide gently on the river, soak in the tranquil atmosphere, and enjoy picturesque views of the Aswan landscape, including the Agha Khan Mausoleum and botanical gardens (from a distance).

Day 5: - Leisure or Optional Abu Simbel Excursion

  • Option 2 (Optional Excursion - highly recommended, extra cost): Early morning departure by private air-conditioned vehicle or domestic flight (depending on booking) for the magnificent Abu Simbel Temples. Two colossal rock-cut temples built by Pharaoh Ramesses II in the 13th century BC. Dedicated to Ramesses II himself and his beloved wife Nefertari, these temples were incredibly relocated in the 1960s to save them from the rising waters of Lake Nasser. Marvel at the four colossal seated statues of Ramesses II guarding the main temple, and explore the intricately carved interiors, depicting battle scenes and religious rituals. The smaller temple dedicated to Nefertari is equally impressive. This is a truly breathtaking experience.

Day 6: - Cruising the Nile to Kom-Ombo

While cruising to Kom Ombo. disembark at Kom Ombo to visit the Greco-Roman temple dedicated to Haroeris (the sun god) and Sobek (the crocodile god), and view the mummified remains of several crocodiles that once basked along the ancient Nile shore, just as their descendants do today. the unique Temple of Kom Ombo. This unusual temple is dedicated to two deities: the crocodile god Sobek and the falcon god Haroeris (a form of Horus). This duality is reflected in the temple's layout, with two identical entrances, two parallel sanctuaries, and two sets of altars. You'll see fascinating carvings depicting surgical instruments, offering insights into ancient Egyptian medical practices. The temple also houses a small museum displaying mummified crocodiles, further highlighting the reverence for Sobek in this region. Continue sailing toward Edfu, Tonight’s dinner onboard features an “Egyptian Night” costume party, with a chance to dress up in traditional gallabiyahs.
