After an early breakfast around 6:30 AM, we will depart by private, air-conditioned vehicle to explore the famed Theban Necropolis on the West Bank. This morning's immersion into ancient history will cover three of its most significant sites: * Valley of the Kings: Our expert Egyptologist will guide you through this sacred burial ground, the final resting place of New Kingdom pharaohs, Temple of Hatshepsut: We will then proceed to the stunning mortuary temple of Queen Hatshepsut, a masterpiece of ancient architecture. Dedicated to the only woman to rule Egypt for an extended period, the temple's unique tiered design and impressive colonnades stand in stark contrast against the dramatic cliffs of Deir el-Bahari, Colossi of Memnon: Our final stop on the West Bank will be a visit to the colossal statues of Pharaoh Amenhotep III. These two immense stone sentinels are all that remain of what was once the largest and most magnificent mortuary temple on the West Bank.
